Spiritual Guidance and Discernment

Core Shamanic Insight for Life’s Questions and Transitions

two dots.png

There are times in our lives when something feels unsettled, unclear, or quietly insistent — when a question or situation is forming beneath the surface and asking for attention.

Spiritual Guidance and Discernment offers a way to meet those moments with intention, depth, and clarity. This work is rooted in core shamanic journeying, an ancient practice found across cultures and ancestral lineages, used for thousands of years to seek insight, guidance, and the restoration of balance.

At the heart of shamanic journeying is the core shamanic state of consciousness — an intentionally entered, altered state of awareness accessed through disciplined practice. In this state, information may arise through symbol, sensation, imagery, or intuitive knowing, offering perspectives that are often inaccessible through reflection alone. You can learn more about the shamanic journey here.

How the Guidance Is Offered

When you request guidance, you’ll be invited to an intake page where you can share what you’re navigating and thoughtfully shape the question you’d like Amara to carry into the journey. Taking time to name the question helps focus the discernment and ensures the guidance speaks directly to what matters most to you.

Once your request is received, your situation and question are carried into the shamanic state of consciousness on your behalf, allowing the discernment to unfold with care, focus, and intention.

Afterward, Amara records a private video response, sharing what was observed, sensed, or revealed — along with reflections to help you integrate what emerged. You receive your recorded guidance by email once the process is complete.

Timing and Scheduling

You’ll receive a written or video response within 24–48 hours (two business days, excluding weekends), sharing the key messages, impressions, or symbols that emerged during the journey — along with Amara’s interpretation to help you reflect and move forward with clarity.

Ethical Standards and Care

All requests for Spiritual Guidance and Discernment are held with strict confidentiality and care. Amara honors the vulnerability that arises when people bring forward questions, uncertainty, or deeply personal experiences.

This work is guided by ethical principles rooted in core shamanic practice and contemplative discernment, grounded in one simple commitment: do no harm.

Guidance is offered with respect for personal autonomy, free will, and the understanding that nothing received replaces your own inner authority.

About Amara

I believe it’s important to choose someone whose life experiences, perspective, and approach resonate with your own. Transparency matters — especially in soul work — so here’s a little about me that you won’t find on my formal bio.

  • I’m in my upper 50s, have been married for over 20 years, and have three children, one bonus daughter, a grandson, and four beloved dogs.

  • I was raised Catholic and left the Church at 18, though I continue to hold the loving, contemplative aspects of my Christian roots close to heart. My spiritual path since then has been deeply shaped by personal study and lived practice in core shamanism, Buddhist philosophy, mystical traditions, and Wicca. While I am not a formal student of any specific Buddhist lineage, I actively incorporate Buddhist principles into my spiritual life — including mindfulness, compassion, non-attachment, and the cultivation of presence. I have been a core shamanic practitioner for over 15 years as well as a teacher of core shamanic practices and consciousness elevation.

  • I consider myself interspiritual — someone who honors the sacred across traditions while listening deeply to the wisdom within. My approach is rooted in reverence, intuition, and personal experience, shaped by years of walking a path that values mystery as much as meaning. I welcome and work with those from all spiritual backgrounds — whether you follow a specific tradition, are navigating a time of questioning, or feel closest to Spirit through nature, creativity, or quiet reflection.

Like many people who seek spiritual guidance, my path has been shaped not only by study and practice, but by lived experience:

  • Over the course of my life, I have moved through profound loss and rupture — including the loss of pets and loved ones, miscarriage, divorce, physical abuse, job loss, financial devastation, spiritual disillusionment, health challenges, and the destruction of my family’s home and businesses in a wildfire, followed by the long aftermath that accompanies events no one is prepared for. I have also lived through betrayal and the quieter griefs that often go unnamed: the unraveling of identities, relationships, dreams, and assumptions about how life was “supposed” to unfold.

These experiences do not define the guidance you receive — but they inform how I listen, how I discern, and how carefully this work is held.

  • I do not approach people’s questions abstractly. I approach them with reverence for the human capacity to endure, adapt, and find meaning again.
