It is then that I heard my soul speak … “search for me in the solitude.”

It is then that I heard my soul speak … “search for me in the solitude.” | Amara Honeck | Spiritual Guide and Mentor | Shamanic Healing | Alternative Healing Services | Shamanism Creativity Consciousness Workshops | Gatlinburg East Tennessee

"Trust" can be such a difficult feat to accomplish. Once you’ve reached your adult years, betrayals, lies, and deceit have already been experienced by most of us many times.

How do we keep from hardening our hearts toward all that is still good and just? In order to live life fully and joyfully, without fear or holding back our dreams and goals, at some point we must soften our hearts toward the idea of trust. Trusting others, trusting situations placed before us, trusting our ideas, trusting our creative process, trusting our spiritual path, trusting our life path – but most of all we need to learn the way our souls speak to us and trust that learning.

How many of the betrayals, lies, and deceitful situations have been because we went with our "brain perception" only to find we were wrong? In my (many) years on this earth, I have learned to listen to the voice of my heart. How? When posed with a question that needs answering, a problem that needs solving, or a choice that needs making, I stop everything and sit in quiet solitude. I pray and intent to understand the events as they are unfolding and to have a clear answer about the choice available to me. I then go over my choices, slowly, out loud. Next I go over my choices, slowly, silently. Lastly, I go over my choices one more time out loud – but this time, I pause after each choice and discern if the choice gave me a “feeling.” Did I feel a little ping in my heart or truthfulness? Did I feel that creeping feeling when anxiety begins to rise? Did I feel warmth in my chest?

We all have physical sensations occur when we’re feeling anxious, nervous, angry, embarrassed, etc. It's important to figure out what each of our personal sensations means specific to our unique souls. Then instead of reacting impulsively to a decision that needs to be made, we sit in silence and outline our choices. We “feel” how each choice makes us feel. We begin to eliminate choices based on if they give us that feeling of high alert or wrongness. It's when we stop and truly listen to our souls that we pull ourselves on to the right track and make decisions that will bring joy and fulfillment to our lives.

One of the most profound ways to learn how you can listen to your soul is to learn how to use your own accessible consciousness tools. Join me in one of my upcoming workshops — Excursion Consciousness Workshop (sponsored by The Monroe Institute) or Shamanic Journeying (sponsored by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies) — to learn how to bring a higher wisdom into your life to heal, help, grow, and gain personal spiritual knowledge. We can also work one-on-one together through spiritual companionship: www.AmaraHoneck.com/workshops ---- www.amarahoneck.com/svc-spiritual-direction
