"Amara is simply wonderful. She provided me with insight and guidance to a very serious situation I was facing with my grandson and daughter. I'm incredibly thankful for her abilities and know that she is guided by love."  ---- Sandy B.

SOUND THERAPY SESSIONS

Singing bowls date back 4,000 years ago to the Bronze Age in China and were called "standing bells." Although there are many myths about their original creation and purpose, singing bowls have historically been used by Central Asian shamans and Bonpo medical Lamas for healing purposes.

Healing and ceremonial sound instruments like singing bowls, drums, didgeridoos, jaw harps, tingshas, gongs, shangs, and many others -- as well as voice instruments like chanting, singing, and toning -- are also used for healing in the shamanic cultures of Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia, and the Americas.

Amara's singing bowls were made in India and hand-hammered to different wall thicknesses and sizes to produce a variety of tones and harmonics to match the frequency of each of our main seven chakras:

  • Root Chakra: Note C

  • Sacral Chakra: Note D

  • Solar Plexus Chakra: Note E

  • Heart Chakra: Note F

  • Throat Chakra: Note G

  • Third Eye Chakra: Note A

  • Crown Chakra: Note B

You can learn more about chakras HERE.

By laying singing bowls in geometric arrangements on and around the body, and striking the bowls in specific rhythmic patterns to create vibrational sound harmonics at the frequency of the chakras, imbalances of the mind and body energy centers can be addressed. This sound frequency positively impacts the nervous system as your brain waves and energy centers synchronize to the vibration of the bowls. This sound therapy:

  • Relaxes the body, removing tightness and resistance.

  • Slows down the respiratory, brain, and heart rate to de-stress the body so its natural healing power can engage.

  • Can have an immediate centering affect on the body.

  • Reduces or eliminates pain, tightness, and discomfort.

  • Works with pain and stress before it manifests into illness.

  • Balances the chakra centers allowing energy to flow freely.

  • Brings the body and mind into a peaceful, calm state.

  • Alters consciousness and allows a theta brain wave state to be engaged. Healing begins when we can activate theta brain waves.

  • Moves our minds into a meditative pattern where one can experience out-of-body sensations, enhanced intuition, and spiritual connection on a higher level.

  • Quiets the mind and allows intuition to flow more freely.

  • Can help one find clarity to situations resulting in solutions to problems.

  • Rejuvenates and restores our body, mind, and spirit.

Many times sound therapy sessions are referred to as "sound baths" or "sound massages" because you are surrounded and bathed in the harmonious tones and vibrations. Instead of fingers used for massage, sound vibrations massage the body.

In-Studio Sessions

Appointments are offered at Zen Altitude Healing Studio, a serene, sacred space located in the Great Smoky Mountains with a breathtaking view of Mount LeConte in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. A session lasts approximately one hour and takes place fully clothed on a massage table. Please see pictures of Amara's healing space on this page.

Your Role

Always (always!) remember how important you are in this process. The practitioner, recipient, and shamanic tools combined with training, awareness, intuition, and most importantly -- intention -- are each a piece of the puzzle that combine to create wholeness and wellness. A recipient of this work must be:

  • An active participant.

  • Open to the work.

  • Focused on restoration of their own well-being and intentions.

  • Engaged in the process.

Session Rates

Three sliding scale rates are offered for sessions because we believe spiritual services should be accessible for everyone. Please choose the rate that is reasonable for your budget. Those who are able to pay the higher rate make it possible for those who need to pay less to receive the gifts of spiritual services. Please click HERE to see a full listing of services and rates.

Please Note

Shamanic practices are spiritual in nature. They do not interfere with any medical treatments an individual may be following under a doctor’s care and are in no way intended to take the place of a doctor’s care. Shamanic treatments are seen as a complementary aid to an individual’s physical and mental well-being. Amara is not a physician, therefore, does not diagnose or treat medical injuries or illness nor prescribe any medications.
