Perception is what we are aware of in our environment by using our five main senses. But for manifestation, the POWER OF PERCEPTION broadens to mean a way of understanding, observing, and interpreting the world around you. How you perceive is influenced by your past experiences, feelings, goals, values, morals, memories, beliefs, religion, family, friends, etc.
YOUR perception is YOUR reality, but your perception may not always be an accurate reality. Everyone’s perception is inaccurate in one way or another and everything you believe is happening is happening only as you believe it to be.
If perception determines how we view our life, then it also determines the thoughts, words, emotions, and actions we take to create our lives. If you have had many negative life experiences, your focus may be skewed to see everything more negatively. The reverse is true for those who have had mostly positive life experiences.
If your perception of the world is negative and like attracts like, what are you putting out to the Universe? And what are you getting in return? You can attract negative situations into your life just as easily as positive situations based solely on your perception.
As with many of the powers I discuss in my book, the Power of Perception is a chance for you to grow into who you are and what you are becoming. Now that you have worked through so many of the powers in this Manifestation Challenge, you realize that there are ways for you to change your way of perceiving, just from seeing the positive nature of every situation. Your perception has already changed just from reading this blog and completing the activities.
Perception is changed only when you have a reason to change it. You know that uncomfortable feeling you get when something just isn’t quite right or goes wrong? That is your cue to make a change. That is your notifier to step back and see your perception for what it is and then expand your view on it, to see it for something more that it is. This is your chance to grow, learn, and become something more, to widen your view.
When you can pull yourself back from a situation or emotion and see the different angles, thought processes, belief systems, and perceptions of those you are involved with, you will have learned to harness the Power of Perception.
Before you begin today’s activity, use your mindful coloring sheet (from previous blog) to bring you into a present state. Then begin your meditation practice as I’ve outlined the last few days.
For today’s Creative Meditation and Manifestation activity, choose one perception you have made in error. This could be a perception you had about yourself that was later proven untrue, or it could be a perception you had about another person or situation where you had it all wrong because you were viewing it from your own perception. Write about the situation in your journal. Next, write how, in hindsight, you could see how your perception about the situation or person was incorrect.
This CMM activity is meant make you aware of how we can believe we are seeing things as they are, but are actually looking through the lens of our own life experience perceptions.
Remember that today’s Power of Perception Meditation is an extension from the previous days’ blogs — so be sure to engage your Power of Intent, Power of Gratitude, Power of Sacred Space, Power of Meditation, Power of Mindfulness, Power of I AM, Power of Wording, Power of Journaling, Power of Thought, Power of Visualization, Power of Forgiveness, Power of Prayer, Power of Emotion, Power of Compassion, Power of Vibrational Frequency, and Power of Belief daily to bring your intangible intent (from Day 1 – Power of Intent) to fruition.
